Ellough AD
Ellough is the biggest gas-to-grid AD plant in the East of England and is fed on 80,000 tonnes of energy crops and sugar beet pulp per year, which is supplied by around 40 farmers in the local area through Ellough Feedstocks.
The plant includes a CHP unit and a gas purification system, in which the biogas is upgraded and supplied as pure biomethane to the National Grid Gas Distribution Network.
Ellough AD was refinanced by Privilege Finance in 2016 and is currently operated by AD management experts, Eco Verde Energy.
Privilege has turned around the performance of Ellough, creating a plant which provides enough gas to heats up to 8,000 homes while also benefiting the local farming community.
"With significant experience in AD, Privilege offers a lot more than just finance. As they're involved in AD throughout the UK they bring solutions that as an operator we may not have thought about."
